I really loved this quote from the supremely talented Hugh Laurie. It really resonates with how I’ve felt over the course of my twenties. Sometimes life can be so daunting that we put it off by waiting until we’re ‘ready’… having kids, looking for a new job, taking the plunge and resigning so you can go travelling, making your love/hobby your main source of income etc etc. Whatever it is, stop worrying, just go and do it. I should take my own advice a bit more than I actually do admittedly, but generally when it comes to the crunch, I do just shut my eyes, stop worrying, take a big jump and hope for the best. So far only amazing things have come from me doing that.

It’s taken me a while to get used to the new iPhoto update, I’ll concede that’s probably because I’m not used to it but so far I’m not a fan. they seem to have removed the settings I use or just changed them to make them more difficult to use. So not the best update as far as I’m concerned. I suspect it just means I should start using Lightroom as soon as possible (and shooting in RAW)!
I finally worked out how to flip the aspect ratio to give a horizontal picture which is what I wanted to do with this image the first time round, it gives a much better image of the smaller craters around the bottom right edge of the moon….. I’ve noticed that WordPress photos look much better if horizontal when on the reader, and without me realising it’s actually changed my photography habits or editing preferences. I try to avoid vertical shots if I can help it or turn them into horizontal shots after the effect like with this moon photograph.
I often wonder if WordPress software has influenced any other photographers I’m following in the same way?
